i tried to get someone from my office to identify this flower, but all the flower gurus were already gone this afternoon when i read your blog. gee, we got these landscaping folks who can't figure out what plant that is.
seriously, i love vacations. i can't wait until i get to "share" my vacations with the love of my life... like you and holly have been able to do.
Posted by jason at June 14, 2003 12:54 AMThanks for the memories, so cool to look at the pics on the links, and say yea, I slept one night right there, and then had breakfast at sunrise right there, and walked from way over yonder to get here. Even better that you were able to share this w/Holly.
Have you ever been to Mahousuk Notch, it's about a mile of scrambling through boulders the size of Ford Expeditions, it is naturally air conditioned, you can see snow/ice in some of the crevices in the middle of the summer, it was the best drinking water on the trail. I think it's just north of the Whites.
Jeff: Thanks for the ideas on where to walk and camp. It sounds beautiful and unique. I will remember this and go there the next time I'm up in that neck of the woods (quite likely within the next 5-6 years).
